Johnny had his last Doctors visit a little over three weeks ago. It was a long, long, long visit. It ended up being about a 6 1/2 hour doctor visit. They warned us in a letter before going that we would be there about 4 hours. We defiantly used up lots of their time. Johnny was considered an interesting case and they decided to run a bunch of tests. So far, this doctor has been my favorite. Her name is Dr. Judith Warner. She seems so smart and really helped us understand some important things about MS and Opticneouritis.
Johnny has been diagnosed so far with MS and Opticneouritis. They are running so more blood tests and we will know more info in the next month. For now, he started a drug called Avonex and finished the taper of steroids about a week ago. YA! I wasn't a fan of the steroids, because his personality was totally different when taking them. He didn't seem as happy while taking them and he was grumpy a lot of the time. Since he stoped taking them he has turned back to his old self. I cant believe i even survived the last three months while he was on those awful drugs!
Avonex is a self shoot that he gives himself once a week. So far he has given himself two half doses and one full dose. There are some side affects with this medication. The nice thing is that it only lasts about 10 hours (at least for Johnny, everyone has a different reaction). He gave himself the shoot last thursday and a couple hours latter got a bad case of the chills and a high fever. He didnt sleep all night and was so hot to the touch. They warned us he would get flu like symptoms and he did. We are hoping that it gets better the longer he takes the medication. At least it doesnt affect his personality and make him grumpy!
Anyway, i thought i would post some pictures from Halloween. This is the first time i have dressed up in years and i loved it!

Me and Johnny!
Well, the new month has began and new things are coming up. Next weekend is the big BYU Dancsport Comp that is held in the Wilk and i will be competing a Cabaret. Im so excited! For anyone that wants to come watch just let me know. It does cost money to get in, but well worth it! Cabaret is danced solo by a couple and has lots of lifts and preaty dancing. This is my first year competing Cabaret. I did dance Cabaret on the team a couple of times over the years. So, its not completely new, just the competition part!

Johnny, angry Johnny.
ReplyDeleteIt's a song.
At least he's not so angry anymore. Just normal angry.
So glad that our Johnny is back to normal. I told him that he seemed more solemn, serious and that he didn't talk a lot when he was on steroid medication. He said that he was quiet a lot because people would say things that would make him angry and he didn't want to say anything that would hurt them. So I give him credit for being aware that he wasn't his normal self and that he tried to control the angry feelings caused by the medication. Way to go, Johnny!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to have Johnny back. He is my favorite Johnny and I like him better steroid free. What a good Johnny. Glad to hear that your cabaret went well(via facebook).
